Speaker Registration and Badge Pick-up

As a speaker, you will be registered for DataWeek 2013 Conference & Festival automatically. Speakers do not need to register themselves. All speakers will receive one comp code in their welcome e-mail allowing them to register one additional guest for the conference. Speakers can use this comp code at http://dataweek13.eventbrite.com/ to register their one additional guest for a Pro Pass, which gets attendees into all DataWeek sessions, workshops and events.

DataWeek speakers have access to our speaker ready space, located behind the main stage in the Festival Pavilion.

FAQ



I’d like to be a speaker at this conference. What do I do?

If you’d like to get involved as a speaker, please submit a speaker proposal by July 24th. All decisions will be sent by July 31st. Additional information about speaker proposal submissions can be found here.

I’m a confirmed DataWeek speaker. What do you need from me?

All speakers must fill out the speaker information form, which includes your proposed presentation title and a short description for our website schedule, within 5 business days of being confirmed by the DataWeek team. If you’re on a panel, no additional information is required of you and a panel prep call with be scheduled beginning 30 days out from the conference. If you are giving a solo presentation, workshop, or lightning talk, your presentation will be due by Wednesday, September 25 by submitting it through this form.

As a speaker, do I have to register myself for DataWeek 2013?

No, you will be automatically registered by the DataWeek team. Speakers can pick up their badge at registration, which will be located in the Festival Pavilion. For the Fort Mason Campus map, click here.

As a speaker, can I bring a guest?

What is the date, time and location of my presentation?

All conference session times and locations are listed on our schedule. The schedule is subject to change, so please visit the page frequently for updates. The details of your session will also be sent in a welcome e-mail on Tuesday, August 13th. If you have any additional questions about your session please contact [email protected]

I’m on a panel. Will there be a prep call?

Yes. All panel prep calls will begin being schedule 30 days before the conference.

When is my presentation due, and am I required to use a DataWeek slide template?

DataWeek presentations must be uploaded to this form by Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Approved formats include: powerpoint, keynote, prezi, or approved video / audio files. You are not required to use a DataWeek template for your presentation.

What AV equipment will be available for my session?

The workshop and session AV equipment information is detailed by room on the Speaker Services page under Workshop / Session equipment.

Is there a speaker ready space on site where I can practice my presentation?

DataWeek speakers have access to our speaker ready space, located behind the main stage in the Festival Pavilion. The speaker ready space will have internet access, program and event schedules, an on-site printer, and bottled water.

Do speakers have access to the DataWeek press list?

No, we do not distribute the press list to DataWeek speakers.

I submitted a speaker proposal, when will I be notified of the team’s decision?

All speaker proposals will be answered by July 31, 2013.

The call for speakers has ended, can I still submit a speaker proposal?

If you believe you have an exceptional submission that should be considered by the DataWeek team, you can still submit a proposal here.
